Retekess TD157 troubleshooting
Retekess TD157 Pager Not Working? How to Re-Pair It
When one TD157 pager stops responding to the keypad, the usual fix is to give it its number again. It takes under a minute, with the pager sitting in the base.
Re-pair one TD157 pager (set its ID)
- 1
Put only that pager in the charging base
Take every other pager out of the base so the setting only reaches the one you are fixing.
- 2
Press CALL and DEL together
The display shows F1. Press 2 to move to F2 (pager ID), then press CALL. The light on the pager flashes: it is now waiting for a number.
- 3
Enter the number
Press 0 until the display reads 000, type the number you want (for example 90) and press CALL to confirm.
- 4
Test it
Lift the pager out, type its number on the keypad and press CALL. It should light up and beep.
The TD157 keypad accepts pager numbers up to 998. 999 is reserved for switching the system off, so never give a pager that number.

With Bzz, guests scan a QR code and their own phone becomes the pager: a live place-in-line page in the browser that alerts them when it is their turn. There are no pagers to charge, pair or replace.

Pager lights up but makes no sound
The TD157 has two alert modes, beep with light and light only. If a pager flashes silently, the beep has probably been switched off in the F3 setting.
1.Press CALL and DEL together
The display shows F1.
2.Press 3 to move to F3
This is the notice-mode setting.
3.Set 001 for beep with light
Setting 000 turns the beep off (light only). Leave it on 001 if you want the beep.
The standard TD157 has no vibration mode. Retekess sells vibration on the TD157P, which works with TD157 systems, so "make it vibrate" is a hardware change, not a setting.
Using two bases or keypads with the same pagers
A TD157 pager can answer more than one base, as long as every base has the same system ID. If pagers respond to one base and ignore the other, the IDs probably differ.
1.Power the base on and press CALL and DEL together
The display shows F1, the system ID setting.
2.Press 1, then CALL
The current ID is shown.
3.Type the new ID
Use the same ID on every base you want to share pagers.
4.Re-pair the pagers
With the IDs matching, pair each pager again using the F2 steps above. Any base can then call it.
Switching the whole system off at close
1.Dock every pager
Put all pagers in the charging slots.
2.Enter 999 and press CALL briefly
The system shuts down. A pager only turns off this way once it has been paired with the base.
Battery and range
Retekess quotes a 300 mAh lithium battery with more than 12 hours of standby, and a range of more than 300 metres thanks to the external antenna. That range is measured in open air. Walls, floors and kitchen steel all shorten it, which is the usual reason pagers drop out at the far end of a patio or in a basement seating area.
Symptom → likely fix
- One pager ignores the keypad
- Re-pair it alone in the base: CALL+DEL, 2 (F2), CALL, 000, its number, CALL.
- Pager flashes but is silent
- F3 is set to 000 (light only). Set it to 001.
- Pagers work on one base but not another
- Give both bases the same system ID in F1, then re-pair the pagers.
- Need more than the 16 slots in the box
- The keypad supports IDs up to 998 and spare number stickers come in the box. The TD157P base holds 24.
- Pagers stay on after close
- Dock them all, enter 999 and press CALL. Unpaired pagers will not switch off this way.
- Pagers drop out in the far room or patio
- The rated range is for open air. Walk-test with one pager and move the base or antenna if needed.
